Another Summons

   Posted by: BobMcNeil   in IRS

I returned home late tonight and found a large envelope taped to my apartment door. The envelope had my handwritten address and a return address label from Roger Caris, IRS Revenue Officer, on the front.

When I was comfortably inside my apartment, I opened the envelope, pulled out the contents, and noticed that it was a document entitled “Summons Collection Information Statement”. The Summons stated that I am required to appear before Mr. Caris on October 5, 2007 to give testimony and to bring for examination certain information for the period August 1, 2007 to present, related to tax period 2002.

Also attached was Form 433-A “Collection Information Statement for Wage Earners and Self-Employed Individuals”.

Between now and October 5th, I will draft an appropriate response.

Hi Bob, I was just searching your site for your past history dealing with a summons. A friend just referred me here. I found your entry about the 2007 summons regarding ty2002, but can you steer me to the other docs you did to handle this?
thanks, Bill G.
